You’ve just had a baby. And this baby is the most precious thing in your world right now. You’ve already decided that you want to have photos taken to help you remember this fleeting time, but now you’re wondering whether an at home photography session is the right thing for you…
Here are Four Benefits to an At Home Lifestyle Newborn Session:
1. Photos at home, mean no rushing to get that new baby fed, dressed, nappy changed, (and nappy changed again!), and out the door on time to a session at a studio. You don’t need to remember changes of clothes, or spare clothes for you… as everything is there where you need it. And you don’t need to travel anywhere. (My babies certainly went through a stage of hating the car seat!)
2. It’s a big change for new brothers or sisters and having photos at home mean they are already in their safe space and can be involved in the session to get some cuddly shots together and then when they are fed up, they are free to go back to their toys or have a snack, without you having to worry about how to entertain them in an unfamiliar place.
3. Your photos will be unique to you and your family. We will photograph in your home, the place you have designed to reflect your style. This might not be your forever home, but it’s the first home your baby has and those memories and that part of their life story will be there in these photos.
We will photograph in any rooms that have lots of lovely light, and even if you don’t think your home is big enough… I can seek out spaces that can work, and we can take photos right up next to a window. Happy to chat through any concerns before booking.
4.The session can be calm and relaxed and taken at your own pace. You’re recovering from birth and likely surviving on little sleep. I will quietly take photographs where you are comfortable and your baby can be where they feel safe, in your arms, or laid down. I don’t force babies into poses or use props. I simply show babies natural simple beauty.
I’d love to help you capture this precious time. If you are pregnant, you can send me your due date and we can get a date booked in the diary for after you’ve had your baby. This date can then be moved depending on when baby arrives, but gives me space in my diary to make sure you can get booked in around this time.
