When should I book in for my newborn shoot?
If you want to capture that true newborn sleepiness I would recommend a shoot before 28 days. Around day 9-12 is good. If you are pregnant, we would book your session for 10 days after your due date. Then once baby has arrived you can keep in touch with me and we can move the date as needed.
If my baby isn’t a newborn anymore have I missed my chance for baby photos?
Not at all! Please get in touch and we can book in a session. I’ll still capture all the little details you want to remember. I think photos of your baby at any age or stage are beautiful and there are always moments you’ll want to remember.
How do we book with you?
Send me an email or give me a call. We will work out suitable dates, discuss the type of session you are looking for and finalise the booking by signing a contract and taking payment.
How much time do you typically need for a session?
You should expect a newborn session to last around 2 hours. Sessions with new babies can take a little longer to allow for feeds and nappy changes, but don’t worry we will take the time needed to get you some lovely shots.
Maternity and milestone sessions usually take around an hour.
How many photos will we receive?
I will take a lot of photos at your session to ensure you get plenty of what you want. When they are ready—usually within 2 weeks—I will send you an email link to your gallery. You will get on average around 30+ edited high resolution images in your gallery to choose from and 5 high resolution digital images are included in every session. There is then the option to upgrade and purchase more. Further details on upgrades and packages here.
Where do you do your photoshoots?
I have a beautiful, natural light studio, in Southbourne, Bournemouth. For families or Maternity, I sometimes take clients to a beautiful beach spot for photographs. We can work wherever you feel most at ease so that I can photograph relaxed, natural poses. We can have a chat to work out what is best for you.
Do you include pets?
I’m sorry to say, I can’t have pets in my studio.
However, for certain shoots it may be possible to include your pet if we are at an outside location. Please get in touch if this is something you’d like to discuss.
I'm worried my children will misbehave!
Parents often worry their children will misbehave or perhaps just be too shy to get involved in the shoot. Being a mum of two children myself, I understand these concerns entirely! But kids will be kids, and I’ve pretty much seen it all! We will have a chat pre-shoot to get to know how your family works best, to ease those pre-shoot anxieties and make the session as relaxed as possible for you and your children.
Do you sell prints or products?
I have upgrade options you can see here and when you book a session I will send you a list of the products I offer.
Are you using social media?
Yep. You can ‘like’ my Facebook page or follow me on Instagram if you’d like to be kept updated with my latest work, promotions and a sneak peak into my personal life!
Who owns the rights to the images you take?
In keeping with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the photographer owns the rights to all the images captured at your shoot. This means I can use the images we capture on the day of your shoot to promote the quality and variety of my work on my portfolio and in social media channels in order to help future clients get a taste of my capabilities. If you’d like to buy the copyright to any of the images from your shoot, or if you’d prefer I didn’t publish the images I capture, please let me know in advance of your shoot and we can make arrangements.
What's your Covid Policy?
I would ask that if you have a session booked and you or a member of the family involved in the session develop covid symptoms that you let me know ASAP and we can postpone your session until you have had a PCR and are feeling better.
I would like to reassure my clients that I will do everything I can to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus. I have had my vaccination and do regular lateral flow tests. I am perfectly happy to wear a mask at your session if that would put you at ease. I also appreciate some people would prefer I didn’t, so please just ask.
