Gemma contacted me before the birth of little Cora, about photographing the joint baptism of her two girls. I've taken photos for Gemma and the girls before, as you may remember from previous blog posts. Of course I was more than happy to make the booking, it is such an honour to be able to capture a beautiful and unique moment in both the babys' and the parents' life. This was my first time meeting their Dad, Phil and taking some shots of them as a new family of four at this special occasion was wonderful.
Nell and Cora were baptised on Sunday 10th May at The Catholic Church of the Annunciation, in Bournemouth. Gemma and I had discussed trying to keep the girls happy, with not too many posed group shots. We kept it simple, with a few family shots before the service and then, with the permission of the priest, discreetly documented the baptism of these two lovely little girls.
Nell is just turning two and was full of beans, running about before, but was so patient during the service. She didn't cry when the priest baptised her, in fact, both girls seemed to take the head wetting in their stride and I love the photos of Nell watching over her little sister, when it was her turn.
It was an intimate family service and I enjoyed capturing this special and important ceremony for them.
